How does the in-app volume control work with the AXN10/MXN10?

Volume control in the AXN10/MXN10 is performed in the DAC chip, in the digital domain.

It is done after the DAC’s oversampling stage, at the highest resolution possible to minimise any effect to the sound.

The volume control doesn’t add an extra processing or conversion stage to the signal path, so there is no difference in audio quality when preamp mode is disabled or enabled.
